What aspects or general themes from Cinthio's Hecatommithi would make an interesting adaptation into Othello on stage?

Considering that I have never read or seen Othello, I will have to base my opinions on the idea that I know nothing about the play; even though I have seen the movie "O" which is based on the play. The Moor's extreme jealousy would be a good adaptation into Othello because this would give the story a plot. Another interesting adaptation would be to have the setting in a similar era.

Predict:
What ending do you think Shakespeare chose, Othello kills himself or is killed by torture after banishment?

I believe that Shakespeare would have had Othello kill himself in the play because thats the way Shakespeare likes it.
